# GEO-Blocking

The GEO-Blocking feature allows users to restrict access to their profiles based on geographical locations.

This feature can be managed globally from the admin panel.

## Enabling GEO-Blocking

To enable GEO-Blocking:

1. Go to `Admin > Settings > Security`.
2. Enable the `Allow users to be able to geoblock their profiles` switch.

## IP Geolocation API Key

For GEO-Blocking to work, you must set up an IP geolocation API key. Follow these steps:

1. Register an account on [Abstract API](https://app.abstractapi.com/api/ip-geolocation/tester).
2. Generate your API key from the [IP Geolocation API](https://app.abstractapi.com/api/ip-geolocation/tester) section.
3. Add the API key to `Admin > Settings > Security > IP Geolocation API Key`.

• Ensure the Abstract API plan you choose supports the volume of geolocation requests your platform may generate.<br />
• This feature is applied at the user level, meaning users can individually set which regions to block access from.
