# Accordions

Questions and details that stay folded until a reader needs them.

An accordion hides its content behind a title. Readers scan the titles and open only what applies to them, which makes accordions the natural shape for FAQs and troubleshooting.

<AccordionGroup>
<Accordion title="Can readers search this site?">
Yes. Press **Ctrl K** or use the search box. Search covers every published page, and the site's Insights show what readers searched for.
</Accordion>
<Accordion title="Can I put a page back the way it was?">
Yes. Every manual save and every publish is kept in the page's history. Compare two versions, then put the older one back.
</Accordion>
<Accordion title="What fits inside an accordion?">
Paragraphs, lists, code, images and tables:

- a short answer first;
- then the detail, if there is any.

## When to use accordions

- **Use them** for content most readers skip: FAQs, error messages, edge cases.
- **Don't hide** the main instructions. If everyone needs it, show it.
- Phrase each title the way a reader would ask it.
