# Lists and quotes

Lists for things that belong together, quotes for words that belong to someone.

## Bulleted lists

For things in no particular order:

- Search across every page
- Ask AI, answering from your pages
- Insights, showing what readers look for
  - including searches that found nothing
  - and pages readers rated

## Numbered lists

For steps short enough not to need the [Steps](https://justdocs.qdev.tech/docs/writing/steps) block:

1. Open the site's settings.
2. Choose **Domains**.
3. Add your domain and follow the DNS instructions.

## Quotes

For words that belong to someone, such as a customer or a policy:

> Documentation is a love letter that you write to your future self.
>
> — Damian Conway

## Dividers

A divider separates parts of a page that don't need a heading between them.

---

Use it rarely: a heading usually does the same job and also appears in the page's outline.
