- Add an account under Admin → AI → AI accounts: the provider, a model, and your API key. Providers: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral AI, DeepSeek, xAI, Qwen, Kimi, Z.ai, Ollama, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint such as OpenRouter. Admin → AI → AI models keeps the model list, and "Import from provider" fetches the current models with a real key.
- In Admin → Settings → AI, pick it as the platform AI account, set a monthly budget (Ask AI pauses for workspaces on the platform key once it's spent; empty means no limit), how much of the docs is sent with each question, and the longest answer. Send the test question.
- Decide whether workspaces can use their own key. They add it under Workspace settings → AI; their answers then don't count toward the plan, and they pay their provider directly.
Admin → AI → AI requests lists every call with its workspace, kind (answer, writing, translation), tokens and cost, so you can see where the budget goes. Readers' questions and the docs' own unanswered questions show on each site's Feedback page.
Readers' questions go to the provider of the account that answers them. Say so in your privacy policy, and choose a provider whose terms fit your customers.
