Your customers create workspaces in it. A workspace holds a team and one or more docs sites. Each site has spaces (the tabs readers see, such as Guides and API), pages written in a block editor, and releases: every publish takes a snapshot of the pages and puts it live. Readers open the published docs at https://your-domain.example/docs/site-name or at the customer's own domain.
| Layer | Looked after by | What lives there |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | You and your administrators | Branding, email, storage, security, payments and plans, the platform's AI key, analytics, the GitHub App, custom-domain certificates, updates. |
| Workspace | The workspace owner and their members | Members and roles, sites, who can read what, plan and billing, the workspace's own AI key. |
| Site | Editors and admins of the workspace | Spaces and pages, the editor, releases and history, Customize, custom domains, versions, languages, Git sync, Insights. |
| Published docs | JustDocs | The reader: search, light and dark mode, languages, Ask AI, Markdown pages and an MCP server for AI tools, ratings, feeds, PDF. |
Drafts and the live site are separate. Editing a page never changes what readers see until someone publishes, and every earlier release can be put back live.
