GEO-Blocking

The GEO-Blocking feature allows users to restrict access to their profiles based on geographical locations.

This feature can be managed globally from the admin panel.

Enabling GEO-Blocking

To enable GEO-Blocking:

  1. Go to Admin > Settings > Security.
  2. Enable the Allow users to be able to geoblock their profiles switch.

IP Geolocation API Key

For GEO-Blocking to work, you must set up an IP geolocation API key. Follow these steps:

  1. Register an account on Abstract API.
  2. Generate your API key from the IP Geolocation API section.
  3. Add the API key to Admin > Settings > Security > IP Geolocation API Key.

Notes:

• Ensure the Abstract API plan you choose supports the volume of geolocation requests your platform may generate.
• This feature is applied at the user level, meaning users can individually set which regions to block access from.
