JustDocs helps teams write, organise, preview and publish documentation from one workspace. Here are answers to the most common questions.
Getting started
Create an account, then confirm your email address if we ask you to.
Create a workspace for your team or company.
Create a docs site. Choose a name and who can read it; we prepare a starter structure and open the first page.
Write in the builder, preview your changes, and publish when you’re ready.
Workspaces and teams
Invite teammates by email from Members. Each member has a role:
Owner: full control, including billing and the workspace itself.
Admin: manages sites, domains, settings and the team, and can publish and delete pages.
Editor: writes, archives and publishes pages, but can’t change site settings or the team.
Viewer: reads drafts, previews and private docs without changing anything.
Writing and organising pages
Pages live in spaces, shown as a tree on the left of the builder. Drag pages to reorder or nest them, or use Move up and Move down in a page’s menu. The page settings panel holds the page’s address, who can read it, where it sits, and its search appearance. You can also paste Markdown to create a new page. Add images and files to a page from the builder’s + menu; Files lists everything uploaded to a site.
Drafts, releases and versions
Saving keeps your changes as a draft that readers can’t see. Publishing turns the saved pages into a new release of your site; Releases lists every release. Each page keeps its revisions, so you can compare an older one with the current draft and restore it. If you document several product versions, add them in Versions.
Who can read your docs
Each docs site is public, password protected, or private (members of your workspace only), and single pages can override the site’s setting. Password-protected and members-only docs depend on your plan.
Custom domains
Add your own domain in the site’s Site settings, under Domains, then create the DNS records shown there with your domain provider. The domain is used once it has been verified.
Plans and billing
Plans are per workspace. Open Plans & billing in your workspace to start a trial, change plan, or download invoices. Each plan sets how many docs sites, team seats, custom domains and how much storage you get.
Your account
Change your name, avatar, password and two-step sign-in in Account settings. If you forget your password, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page.
